A native of Lima, Peru, Claudia was offered a full scholarship to play golf at the University of New Mexico where she gained All-Conference honors in 2000 and 2002, as well
as a B.A. in Economics. As the 2000, 2002 and 2003 Peruvian National Champion and the 1996 and '97 South American Team Champion, she became, in 2004, the first woman Head Professional in the history of Peruvian golf at the Country Club La Planicie, a position she held until 2007. She is a Class B LPGA Professional and is working toward attaining full LPGA membership.
